What We Believe
As an evangelical church, we uphold the teachings of the Bible first
and foremost, believing the sixty-six books of the Bible to be without
error in their original languages (Hebrew and some Aramaic in the
Old Testament; Koine Greek in the New Testament). We also believe
that there are certain essentials of the Christian faith which are
just that, essential for all Christians to believe. As fallen humans
subject to error, we recognize that differences (nonessentials) are
present within Christian Orthodoxy, and so while we still seek to
study and grow, nonetheless, we extend grace to one another in regards
to those matters. Our position in regards to essentials and nonessentials
of the faith can be summed up in this motto: "In essentials,
unity; in nonessential, liberty; in all things, charity." For
a complete list of the Essentials of the faith, we invite you to visit
our church’s main website at www.fbcreading.org/whatWeBelieve.php.
