Jr. & Sr. High - - The students
will work through 24/7 Ministries’ Journey curriculum,
focusing on the need to connect head knowledge and heartfelt obedience
in the Christian life. It has once been said that you cannot claim
to love somebody without knowing what it is you love about him or
her. If I didn’t know my wife’s eye color, hair color,
humor, personality, temperament, hope, dreams, and frustrations, you
could rightly ask, “Well, what do you love about her?”
At the same time, I could know everything about her, but only keep
that knowledge in my head without allowing it to impact my heart and
manifest itself in acts of love. In that case, you could ask, “Do
you really love her?”
The same principle applies to our relationship with our Triune God.
Journey attempts to teach essential tenets of Christianity
(head knowledge), while challenging teens to apply these truths to
everyday life with hearts transformed by Christ’s salvation
and love. Realizing that people learn differently at different ages,
and that life situations change with age, though the lessons cover
the same material, we break the classes up into Jr. High (7th-8th
grades) and Sr. High (9th-12th grades).
