This year, the Jr. and Sr. Highers will work their way through a curriculum called Gospel Transformation (see the Events calendar for a week by week breakdown of themes). God desires His people to know Him, and one of the main ways He has taught us to get to know Him is through the teachings and doctrines He has given us in His Word, the Bible. The Hebrew verb for “to know” is yada, a word which means to know something or someone in the head and the heart. It is not enough to know a doctrine in the head without it also impacting the heart, and vice versa. So, each week we will study a particular key doctrine in Scripture, challenging the head and applying it to the heart, all in an attempt to fall more and more in love with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As we yada more and more of the Gospel, our lives will then be transformed into the image of Christ and people will see Jesus in us and desire to yada Him for themselves.

In general, each week, in both groups (we do meet separately, though at the same time), we gather for songs of praise, for prayer, for games, and for a study/discussion of a particular passage in Scripture. Of course, no study is complete without offering concrete ways in which we can apply the lessons learned from Scripture to our everyday lives (again, yada)! On the last Sunday of month, we begin the meeting a half hour earlier so we can enjoy a pizza dinner (or something else if we get tired of pizza) together.
